Female Summer Camp Lead Cook

Position: Culinary Ministry (Lead Cook)
Dates: Full-time Summer | June 13 – August 3

Location: Mt. Gilead Camp, Pocono Mountains, PA

The Heartbeat of the Camp
They say an army marches on its stomach, and at Mt. Gilead, a camp runs on its kitchen! We believe that some of the most profound spiritual growth happens around the dinner table. Our Kitchen Staff are the "unsung heroes" who fuel our campers and counselors for their adventures, ensuring every girl feels nourished, cared for, and at home.

Your Workspace: A Modern Oasis
Forget what you think you know about "camp cooking." You will be working in our amazingly large, state-of-the-art, and fully air-conditioned kitchen! While the rest of the camp is out in the summer heat, you’ll be serving in a professional, cool, and comfortable environment designed for high-efficiency and high-fun.

Your Role & Responsibilities
Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of nutritious, "family-style" meals for campers and staff (think high-quality comfort food and fresh options).

Dining Hall Experience: Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized dining environment where our camp traditions (and silly songs!) can thrive.

Special Dietary Support: Play a crucial role in ensuring campers with allergies or specific dietary needs feel safe and included at every meal.

Team Synergy: Work alongside a tight-knit crew of young women to keep the "engine" of the camp running smoothly.

Why Join the Mt. Gilead Kitchen Crew?
Beat the Heat: Work in one of the few climate-controlled areas of camp while still being part of the outdoor ministry.

Professional Skills: Gain experience in large-scale food service, time management, and teamwork—skills that look fantastic on any resume.

Ministry Impact: Your service directly enables every other part of camp to happen. Without the kitchen, there is no archery, no hiking, and no campfires!

Competitive Compensation: Includes a full-time summer salary, housing, and (of course) the best meals on property.

Qualifications
Age: Open to Female High School and College students who have a heart for service and a "can-do" attitude.

Spirit of Service: You enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done and find joy in serving others behind the scenes.

Team Player: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and love working as part of a sisterhood.

Ready to Serve?
If you have a passion for food, fellowship, and a cool workspace, we would love to have you on the team.
